Interesting blog, from a "devotional" league bowler who started 3 years ago with a 150 avg., went into this season with a 165 (had hoped for 170), will go out -2 or 3 pins, have a HSS to date of 596 (still looking for that 600-- my personal "white whale"). I am a Lutheran seminary student on the side and a full-time Russian teacher in high school. There are many hauntingly familiar sentiments in your posts. Keep it up, brother-- I've bookmarked you!
